Excellent question! Super 8 is a silent home-video format that first came out in 1965 and it was released as a convenient consumer-grade alternative to reel to reel video. This video format had its hay day in the 1970’s which makes videos shot on Super 8 today feel as though they are from a time gone by. Even the cameras I use are from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s which is pretty cool! I send out the film to a trusted lab where it is developed and digitized and sent back to me in about a month’s time. Because this format of video is fairly uncommon nowadays, Super 8 film + processing is quite expensive. I actually calculated that every second of footage costs me 50 cents in film and processing fees. But fear not! These raw costs are all factored into my pricing. :)

Yes!! I include two(ish) hours each way of travel for weddings and elopements, and one(ish) hour each way for sessions. I am grateful to live in a pretty centrally located area so here are some common destinations that I am within 2 hours of: NYC, Philadelphia, (most of) the Jersey Shore, Nassau County Long Island, lower and middle Hudson Valley, Hoboken, Princeton, The Poconos, and so many more places! Beyond the hours of travel that are included, I may charge for millage or airfare as well as any accommodations that would be necessary for me to stay the night, (depending on the location of course.) However there are certain locations that I may wave or reduce travel fees for depending on my connection to the place and/or my desire to shoot there, so it truly never hurts to ask!

My turn around time is 6-8 weeks as it takes around 1 month for the lab to process the film and send it back to me. This then gives me a few weeks to work on editing your wedding video and making it perfect for you!

At this time I do not offer live audio as a part of my Super 8 videos as I do not have the equipment required to record high quality live audio. Hopefully this will be something I can offer as an add on for my Super 8 films in the future!

Sooo, yes and no! Basically what I do is for every Super 8 film I include 2 cuts of the video. If I am shooting a longer wedding film (6+ minutes) I will select the music for the full video from a selection of licensed music that I pay a subscription to have access to. This way the video can be shared publicly without any sort of copyright infringement. However! Remember how I said I always include 2 cuts? For the longer videos, I create a shorter highlight reel type of video of my favorite clips from the day that is around 2-3 minutes long. This video is intended for just you and your person to have as a keepsake and the music choice is completely up to you! If you are just getting a Super 8 add on that is less than 6 minutes long, I will simply create two cuts of the same video, one with my selection of a licensed song, and one for you guys to have just for yourselves with your song choice in the background.
